About Us

At AMMA Childcare Services, we understand that in order for children and young people to thrive we must create and sustain an environment that prioritises the child/young person placing them at the centre of all decision making and planning in the organisation. We offer emotional support and stability to help them gather the tools required to be resilient and encourage growth that will rebuild foundations for a positive future.

Therapeutic Practice

At AMMA Childcare, we understand the profound impact of trauma on children's lives and their overall well-being. Our approach to childcare is rooted in the belief that every child deserves a safe and nurturing environment in which they can heal and grow. This is why we place a strong emphasis on trauma-informed therapeutic parenting, which we believe is essential for helping children overcome their past experiences and build a brighter future.

Core Values

Creating core values is essential for establishing a guiding framework that influences behaviour, decision-making, and the overall identity of individuals and organisations. It contributes to a sense of purpose, consistency, and long-term success.

Compassion
Compassion is central to creating a caring and empathetic atmosphere. It involves understanding and acknowledging the unique experiences and challenges each child brings, showing kindness, and providing emotional support. Compassion in a residential setting means actively listening to children, validating their feelings, and responding with sensitivity to their individual needs.
Empowerment
Empowerment means fostering an environment where children are encouraged to make choices, express their opinions, and actively participate in decisions that affect their lives. It involves providing opportunities for skill-building, self-expression, and personal growth. Empowering children in a residential setting helps instil a sense of autonomy and self-efficacy, preparing them for future independence.
Consistency
Consistency in this context refers to maintaining stable and predictable routines, environments, and support systems for the children. It involves providing a secure and reliable foundation that allows children to build trust and feel a sense of safety. Consistency extends to caregiving practices, rules, and expectations, ensuring a stable and nurturing living environment.
Excellence
Striving for excellence means consistently delivering high-quality care, services, and support to the children. It involves setting and maintaining high standards in areas such as education, health, and emotional well-being. Pursuing excellence also means continuous improvement, staying informed about best practices, and adapting strategies to meet the evolving needs of the children in the home.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What's your most recent Ofsted rating?

We proudly achieved an Outstanding from Ofsted's most recent report in January 2024.

Where are your homes based?

Our homes are based within the Solihull borough.

What training do you offer your team?

We provide comprehensive training to our staff members. This includes specialised courses in trauma-informed care, de-escalation techniques, behaviour management strategies, and therapeutic interventions. Our team undergoes continuous professional development to ensure they are equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to support young people with Emotional and Behavioural difficulties effectively. Additionally, our staff receive ongoing supervision and guidance from experienced clinical professionals to enhance their understanding and practice in providing high-quality care.

What makes your homes unique?

What truly makes us unique is our holistic approach to creating a nurturing, family environment where each child's needs are met with personalised attention and compassion. Our directors' hands-on involvement ensures that our mission to leave a lasting, positive impact on every young person is ingrained in every aspect of our operation.

By integrating our therapeutic practices and prioritising the professional development of our staff, we set a new standard for quality and care in the industry, making every interaction within our walls a step towards healing and growth for our residents.

Do you accept emergency placements?

We do not accept emergency placements because we believe in the importance of providing a thoughtfully prepared and welcoming environment for every young person who enters our care. Change, especially for young individuals who frequently experience feelings of low self-worth and may have faced multiple challenges, can be exceptionally difficult. By taking the time to understand and prepare for each child's unique needs and circumstances, we ensure that their transition into our home is as smooth and supportive as possible.

This approach allows us to create the best possible start for the young people we serve, setting a foundation of trust and security from the outset. It reflects our commitment to not just meeting immediate needs, but fostering a deeper, lasting impact on their lives.
