Our Young Person
“The Staff are cool, they let me have my moments but always support me, they tell the truth and make me understand things better than others around me”
Ofsted Inspector
Staff provide excellent support to children to maintain relationships with their families. All parents shared that their child has been happier since living at the home, that staff go above and beyond for their child and that they feel actively involved in their child’s care planning arrangements. This has helped children to flourish at the home while maintaining links with important people in their lives.
Independent Reviewing Officer
When I arrive at residential homes I often think, ‘would this be good enough for my child?’ Too frequently the answer is no and I am often caught up in challenging ‘basic care’ in order to ensure a young person is adequately supported and more complex needs can be addressed. This was not the case with Bryan House. As soon as I entered the home it felt warm, welcoming, and safe. The young person seemed happy. It was beautifully decorated and furnished. It was clean. I was shown around. Introduced to staff. She was happy to show me her room, which was cosy and warm. It felt like ‘home’ which I believe is so important for young people. Wendi is, in my view, a fantastic manager, a real asset to the group. She is professional, warm and an exceptional listener, seeking to understand as opposed to implementing her own actions. I feel reassured the young person is in her care. I know Wendi will listen to her, respect her views, but also ‘parent’ her in a way that will be responsive to her needs.
What our employees think
“Honestly, it’s been like walking into a dream home. The management team have been continuously supportive throughout my journey this far, from frequent and relevant supervisions, to general day to day check in a support. The directors are active within the home and behind the scenes, they’re super friendly and approachable and take great pride in their home and team. I genuinely appreciate the team I work with and thoroughly enjoy working for Amma!”
“The home has a lovely homely environment for the young people and staff are really supported by the homes manager who is very experienced and always on hand to support the staff with a great positive energy. The directors also are really supportive and always there for staff and the young people. The home has a therapeutic team which is fantastic for the young people that are placed at Amma childcare which gives them an individual package tailored around there needs if they are ready for the support and the lead therapist works closely with the staff team. AMMA is a great positive company to work for with plans for the company to grow with great career progression and opportunities for the staff and their development. By far the best company I have ever worked for!”
“Amma Childcare is absolute brilliant! The directors, management and staff are brilliant. It’s like a family kind of workforce. You're given an opportunity to grow and develop to highest standard. I’ve gained so much working here. Love it!”
“I've worked in child care for 12yrs. Its rare to find an employer who cares above and beyond for its young people and staff team. I feel AMMA Childcare have re-energised myself in this sector and I find myself working for people who really do want to make a positive difference. Its a pleasure going to work and to know everyone is having a similar experience as myself.”
